PRIDE Health is seeking a travel Medical Lab Technician for a travel job in Houston, Texas.

Pride Health is hiring for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to support our client’s medical facility based in Houston, TX 77030. This is a great opportunity to join a top-tier healthcare organization, supporting the Blood Bank department .

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to department SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure proper functionality.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving as needed.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain testing bench supplies and assist with specimen processing when required.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and follow PPE requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
  • MLT Associates degree accepted.
  • ASCP certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
  • Blood Bank experience required.
  • State Medical Technologist license may be required (as per local regulations).
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in laboratory procedures and instrument troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with lab information systems is a plus.
