Principal Responsibilities: Position Type: Part-Time, including Sundays or evenings, 1-4 hours/week
Description Our Group Fitness Instructors play an essential role in assisting members of the JCC through their fitness journeys. Group Fitness Instructors are responsible for creating enjoyable, safe, and effective exercise classes, and providing encouragement and support to class participants.
The Group Fitness Instructor is a generalist, with experience in providing classes for many modalities of formats, including HIIT, yoga, barre, and circuit/conditioning.
Minimum Qualifications: Duties and Responsibilities - Demonstrate impeccable form and execution of exercises, provides modifications for all fitness levels, avoids use of contraindicated exercises, and cues progressions/regressions seamlessly. Corrects form both in one-on-one and in group reminders.
- Uses music appropriate for the class setting.
- Exudes enthusiasm for the class, encourages a non-competitive environment, helps class understand exercise concepts, creates an enjoyable class experience.
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly studio, re-racking weights, stacking mats, etc.
- Promote other JCC services where applicable
- Along with other instructors, you'll be responsible for providing a fun, engaging, enriching and safe environment for our JCC members
Qualifications - Current nationally recognized certification in group fitness or personal training
- Current CPR/First Aid Certified
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Requires ability to lift up to 50lbs and capability of standing for long periods
- Experience at a previous club or fitness center
Compensation: $45+ per session, depending upon experience
